Wade Disney Hat Box Series

In 1956 Wade launched their Disney Hat Box series with minature figurines of the characters from the popular Disney movie Lady And The Tramp. The series went on till 1965 and included characters from such Disney movies such as Bambi, 101 Dalmations, Dumbo and The Sword In The Stone.


Lady And The Tramp


The Lady And The Tramp set included: Am, Peg, Tramp (transfer marked in blue with Wade England), Si, Scamp, Lady (transfer marked in blue with Wade England), Jock (some had no coat, some a green coat and others had a blue coat, the ones with no coat are rarer and more valuable), Trusy, Boris, Dachie and Toughy.


Bambi 1957


In 1957 George Wade & Son Ltd produced 3 figurines of the characters from the 1942 Disney animated movie Bambi. The set includes Flower, Bambi and Thumper. 


Dumbo 1957

In 1957 George Wade & Son Ltd produced just one of the characters from the 1941 Disney animated movie Dumbo, which was Dumbo.


Fantasia 1958

In 1958 just one character from Fantasia was produced by George Wade & Son Ltd, which was Baby Pegasus


101 Dalmations 1961


Four figurines based upon characters from the 1961 Disney animated movie were porduced. The set includes: The Colonel, Sgt. Tibbs, Rolly and Lucky.


The Sword In The Stone 1963


This is the rarest and most valuable set from the Hat Box series. The Merlin figurines are the hardest to find and are worth between £100 and £150 each. 
The set includes: Girl Squirrel, Merlin as a Hare, Archimedes, Madam Mim (beware of a fake), Merlin as a Turtle and Merlin as a Caterpillar.

  1. wow i have nearly all of these as my mother owned a ornament shop in london from 1960s. They came in round boxes.
